AI Statement

Definition

When I use the term AI, I am referring to generative AI which is trained on existing works to produce predictive answers or works in response to prompts.

Usage for Art

I am willing to use 'noise generator' style AI of earlier generations of development. These output meaningless randomness rather than polished works. Much like a Rorschach test, it is less about what is there and instead what it inspires as a starting point for artwork. Unfortunately, these sorts of AI have become very rare due to the lack of polish.

Usage for Writing

Though many programs get labeled AI because it is trendy, editing programs are not usually AI. If an editing program has AI integration, I do not use it. I believe it is ethical to use it to get ideas, but not to do the actual creation. Ideas are everywhere, it's the execution that matters. Using AI to do the work isn't doing any real work at all. Know that I will not use any AI to develop or write my stories.

AI Ethics

Due to the theft of copyright under the false pretense of fair use, very few AI are currently ethical by my standards. As such, if I do use AI in the future that has been trained, it would only be varieties which have ethically sourced materials or those I have trained myself on my own works. That is to say, I am probably not going to be using any moving forward.

Legal Exerpt

The use of my copyrighted works and intellectual property for the purposes of training AI are expressly forbidden without my expressed written permission separate from a larger document. This includes by way of automatic net crawlers or any other method currently in use or future method yet not designed. If you are using my copyrighted materials or IP with or without expressed permission, you are agreeing the the following terms: Any party which uses my works to train their AI with expressed permission shall pay a royalty of 5% of their gross profits in perpetuity while using the AI thus trained. If a company has been found to use my works to train their AI shall pay 30% of their gross profits retroactive from the date of their creation to the present and 10% of gross profits thereafter.
